Come along as we visit four premium vineyards in the Grand River Valley region for our annual Ice Wine Festival trip. A short walk finds us at the Chelsea Teddy Bear Company where we'll learn about the making of Teddy Bears and view the "World's Largest Teddy Bear". A delicious lunch is included before we travel to the Matthai Botanical Gardens and the Nichols Arboretum. On our way home we stop at a winery for sampling and snacks. Next, we meet our step-on-guide for a tour of our States first Capitol followed by a relaxing ride on the Ohio River aboard the Vally Gem Strenwheeler. On the way home, we plan an "on your own" fast food stop. This truely informative day starts with a 6:00 a.m. departure in Amherst. Our day starts with a tour of Yoder’s Amish Home, Farm & Schoolhouse. Then we’re off to Kaufmann’s Bakery and Heine's Cheese world. An Amish style lunch is included, complete with pie for dessert. You'll have plenty of time to browse the many areas at Sol's Marketplace in Berlin. Next is a stop for some samples at Coblentz Chocolates. They also have sugar free items. The day would not be complete without a visit to Hillcrest Orchards for some cider, apples and fresh vegetables. Our final stop is at the Perrenial Winery for some tasting and perhaps a purchase of their delicate offerings. Since this is one of our more popular trips, make your reservations by Aug. 25thearly. This trip is a special treat for our working travalers. We make a brief morning beverage stop along the way to the Penn-Shore Winery. After a tour of the production facility, we get to sample their products. You may even want to make a purchase or two. Then we're off to the Peek n Peak resort for their annual Fall Festival. Lunch at the Lodge is included. You may want to take a ride on the ski lift if you feel adventurous. This afternoon finds us at the Pashke Mum Farm for a drive tour, conditions permitting. You'll find the freshest fall fruits and vegetables here. As we start for home, we visit one of Erie's finest chocolate houses. Make on site, you'll marvel at their selection. Tasting is included.
