July 23 - 28: MACKINAC ISLAND . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $569.00 p.p.d.o.
Our early (6:00 a.m.) departure takes us on the Ohio turnpike to a brief stop at McDonalds near Maumee. We’ll make another rest area stop just north if Flint. Our lunch stop, which is on your own is planned in West Branch. Traveling further north along I-75, we will visit the “Cross in the Woods”, the largest wooden cross in Michigan. We expect to arrive at our hotel around 5:00 p.m. After settling in, we’ll take a short drive to “Neath the Birches” for a delicious dinner.
DAY 2: After breakfast, we meet our guide for a catamaran ride to peaceful Mackinac Island where 80% of the land is dedicated to parks and preservation. The only mode of transportation is by horse drawn carriage. After lunch at the “Grand Hotel Buffet”, which is included, we’ll take a leisurely carriage tour of the island to see sites like the Arch Rock and Lilac Lane. You will have time to browse the many shops on the island before returning to the mainland. Dinner this evening is at “Legs Inn” featuring Polish/American cuisine and live music.
DAY 3: Breakfast is included at our hotel. Today, we travel to Soo Sault Marie for our boat locks tour and lunch, which is included. We’ll make a brief stop at the Kewadin Casino before returning to our hotel in Mackinaw City. Dinner is at “Neath the Birches” with the rest of the evening free for you to enjoy on the beach.
DAY 4: After breakfast, we depart for Frankenmuth, making a brief rest area stop along the way. Our included lunch is at the world famous Zehnder’s restaurant. This afternoon we visit Bronner’s Christmas Land store to perhaps start our holiday shopping. On the way home we stop for dinner which is on your own at either Country Buffet or next door at McDonalds. With fond memories of a wonderful trip and new friends, we anticipate arriving home around 9:30 p.m. Come along for fun and friendship.

Sept. 24 - 28: VERMONT FALL FOLIAGE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $689.00 p.p.d.o.
We have a wonderful 5 day Vermont Fall Foliage Trip planned for you. Caroline, Steve and all the staff at the Big Bear Lodge are anxious for our return in 2012. What a fabulous time we had last year inspite of the damage wrought by Hurricane Irene. It's been said in the Rural-Urban Record that "North Ridge Tours offers the BEST Vermont Fall Foliage Trip from the Lorain County area". Day 1: An early morning departure is planned from a single location so that we can comply with our drivers D.O.T. regulations. Ample rest and meal stops are planned in route about every 2 1/2 hrs. The Big Bear Lodge expects us to arrive about 5:15 p.m., with a 'Welcome Reception" while our luggage is being delivered to our rooms. Dinner will be served about an hour after our arrival. The evening is ours to relax and socialize. The Lodge does not have a liquor license, therefore, it is B.Y.O.B.
Day 2: This morning greets us with a hearty Vermont breakfast prepared by our lodge staff, followed by a group photo, which is part of this trip. After a short ride, we arrive at the Scott Covered Bridge, one of the few not damaged by Hurricane Irene last year. Next we veneture to "The Friesians of Majesty" livery. This location is a full-service breeding and training facility devoted exclusively to the Friesian horse. Here we view a carriage demonstration and drill team show. After our included lunch we visit the Grafton Village Cheese factory for a tour and tasting. On the way to the lodge, we'll stop in Wilmington to browse the shops and view someof the devastation from last years hurricane. Dinner is at the Big Bear Lodge followed by local entertainment.
Day 3: Our lodge staff has another specially prepared Vermont breakfast to start our day. We're off to "Hildene", the home built by Robert Todd Lincoln for his widowed Mother. Make sure to take plenty of pictures around the grounds as the views are fabulous. This afternoonfinds us at the Norman Rockwell Museum of Time and Life magazine covers. A short time later we find ourselver at the Chocolatorium. Wow, I wonder what we'll do here. This evening finds us enjoying another Vermont style dinner is followed by entertainment in the open lounge.
Day 4: By now you know to expect another delicious Vermont style breakfast prepared by our lodge staff. This morning we venture to the Sprague Sugar House for a tour of their maple syrup operation, before we venture to Hogback Mountain for a 100 mile view. On a clear day you can see the states of New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Vermont. We'll travel to the Bennington Pottery factory for a first hand view of the manufacturing facility. A short drive brings us to the Hemmings Motor News 50's Filling Station and Museum of Antique Vehicles. After a lunch, we travel to The Vermont Country Store in Weston. You'll want to spend plenty of time here. Upon returning to our lodge we'll freshen up for another fabulous dinner followed by entertainment.
Day 5: Our final Vermont breakfast get us ready for our journey home. We'll say our "Fare Wells and Good Byes" to our gracious hosts You'll have many wonderful memories of your "Vermont Fall Foliage" experience. We plan ample rest and meal stops during our return trip. We should be returning to North Ridgeville before 7:00 p.m.
